How we make money
Lift Guide is free for you to use. Installers pay us a fee when we send them your request. That fee does not change the price you pay, and we do not receive a commission on your purchase. We list installers who do not pay us too, and we label the difference.
The whole model, in plain words
When you send a quote request through our form, we pass it to up to two installers who serve your postal code and who have passed our screening. Each installer pays us a flat fee for that introduction, whether or not you buy anything. That is our only income from readers' requests.
The fee is the same no matter which installer you choose, so we have no reason to steer you. Comparison pages and price guides are written before we know which companies will be partners in a city, and partner status never changes what we write or the order of any list.
You will always know who received your details: we name both installers on the confirmation page and in your email. At most two. Never a list sold to others.
Current partner installers
We do not have partner installers yet. As soon as the first agreement is signed, every partner will be named here, and this list will be updated whenever a partner joins or leaves. Every partner is labelled "Partner installer, pays us a fee" wherever they appear on the site.
What we do not do
- We do not take a commission on your purchase, and we never see your invoice.
- We do not sell rankings. No installer can pay to appear higher, and comparison verdicts are not for sale.
- We do not sell your details to anyone other than the two named installers you agreed to hear from.
- We do not sell requests from people who told us they are just researching.
- We do not run ads, sponsored posts or affiliate links to manufacturers.
- We do not call you ourselves to sell anything.
If something goes wrong
If an installer we introduced pressures you, misses appointments or will not put a quote in writing, tell us: hello@liftguide.ca. Two substantiated complaints in a quarter pauses an installer; unresolved complaints end the relationship. We will tell you what we did.
